Gabriel & Oyin got married at the beautiful Casa Delle Terre Forti. A stunning venue set at the hill top of Catania, Sicily. It was in October but the beautiful Southern Italy destination provided an uncharacteristically warm winter day-it was perfect. Capturing the day on both film and digital media.
We began the day late morning at the Grand Hotel Baia Verde. The hotel ground, set at the coast of the Lonian sea was just the perfect backdrop for the bridal prep. At this point, the sun wasn’t letting up as it beat down with a relentless, punishing brilliance. Top tip for destination wedding-always schedule the ceremony for late afternoon when the sun isn’t as harsh, especially if the ceremony is held outdoors.
We continued with Oyin at the Casa Delle Terre Forti where she put on her perfectly fitted dress for a few solo shots and a reveal with her bridal team before the ceremony began.
During the ceremony, the sun had started its descent, casting a soft, warm golden hue. Everyone could see this couple was a match made for each other! There was a special connection they seem to share that everyone could see throughout the day. From gentle touches, handholding to the banter between these 2. We utilised the venue with beautiful couple and bridal team shots from the area of the ceremony to the beautiful palm trees embracing the golden light, finishing off at the swimming pool and outdoor reception area overlooking the City of Catania and the Lonian Sea. What a magical view.
At the reception, a selection of local dishes were served, with competitive games played across the 2 large guest tables, a great musical ambiance from the DJ, topped with some cake cutting (Italian style), finished with an open dance floor. The evening was filled with much merry. This was truly an unforgettable wedding experience.
